Dezerland Park Orlando has announced that it will be opening Florida’s newest indoor attraction in the former home of the Artegon Marketplace “in time.”

Dezerland Park Orlando will offer “an array of attractions that will open over a course of several months” as the park adds new experiences across its 800,000 square feet of space, according to an official press release.

Michael Dezer, a real estate developer and car collecting aficionado, is the owner of Dezerland Park and the man behind the attraction. He began collecting cars more than 50 years ago, and has since curated one of the rarest collections of vintage, classic and military vehicles. He purchased the former Artegon space in 2018.

“I have spent my life working hard to develop new concepts and ideas to bring to fruition, and I am delighted to share my passion for cars with the world and where better to do so than right here in Orlando, Florida,” said Dezer. “We are excited to become a vibrant member of the Central Florida Community and appreciate the support from local officials. We are preparing to offer a wonderful experience that will surprise and delight as we bring together entertainment and world-class automobilia under one roof here at Dezerland Park Orlando.”

Once open, the heart of the park will house The Auto Experience, where guests can discover the largest privately-owned collection of automobilia in the world spanning across 250,000 square feet. Here, guests will see a variety of Hollywood cars, including the largest collection of James Bond from Connery to Craig, Batmobiles, cars from around the world, micro cars, Vespa scooters, and an assortment of military vehicles. There will also be themed areas featuring iconic cars from classic movies, including:

  • Bat Cave
  • Military Pavilion
  • The Great Gatsby Lounge
  • The Chrysler Lounge
  • Americana Lounge
  • Thunderbird Lounge
  • Cars of Europe
  • New York City
  • Cuba Libre
  • Harley Lounge

The venue will also offer The Event Place, with “dynamic venues” offering experiences for groups once it is safe to do so. Dezerland Park will still be the home of Bass Pro Shops, Orlando Putting Edge and Cinemark Orlando. In time, the park will also offer the Dezerland Park Automotive School, a non-profit foundation that serves as an educational program to teach auto trade to young students.

To keep guests and team members safe, the park is preparing to follow regulations laid out by local authorities and CDC officials. These measures include face masks, hand sanitizer stations, temperature checks, limited venue entrances, and frequent sanitation of surfaces and attractions. Physical distancing will also be enforced through the proper spacing of games, arcades and experiences.
