Explore Black Spire Outpost on the Planet Batuu

On the edge of the galaxy, between the Unknown Regions and Wild Space, there is a long-forgotten planet named Batuu.
Batuu’s largest village is a settlement known as Black Spire Outpost, which has become a thriving destination for those who would prefer to go about their business unnoticed—scoundrels, rogues, smugglers and, recently, whispers in the woods reporting sightings of individuals associated with the Resistance.

Amid this brewing conflict, sits an exotic outpost surrounded by a beautiful landscape dominated by the petrified remains of towering ancient trees, from which Black Spire Outpost draws its name. The modern village is built on the remains of crumbling structures built by a long-extinct civilization.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion ever in a Disney park. The 14-acre land transports guests to the remote planet of Batuu, full of unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes.
Forefront Architecture + Engineering | Droids, Ships, and Racers
As guests walk through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, they will see a number of displays featuring droids and racers that were engineered for the land.

Some of our work can be seen throughout different parts of the land and a large cargo ship seen high above the marketplace.

This cargo ship has some interesting details that pay tribute to the movies that started it all. On the side of the ship, three cargo bays have the numbers, 77, 80, and 83. These numbers represent the years the first Star Wars trilogy was released in theaters.
