Forefront Featured: Housing Innovation Alliance

Forefront Architecture + Engineering was recently featured as a Project Champion from the Housing Innovation Alliance for continued efforts in reshaping the future of housing.

The ultimate goal of the Alliance is to ensure that high quality, high-value housing is sustainable for our industry and truly attainable for the consumer.

Over the next five years—given the number of Millennials and Boomers—the opportunity to provide new, attainable housing for middle income households is about 1 million homes per year. These homes, if purchased, are at price points of $200,000 to $450,000, depending upon the market.

At the same time, there are a number of significant challenges that are keeping us from producing at the volume necessary and at the price points people can bear, including land prices, regulatory burdens, labor shortages and productivity issues.

In short, attainable housing is both a huge opportunity and a huge challenge. There has never been a greater need for collaboration and innovation in our industry—new thinking, new relationships and new solutions, and the Alliance is here to help.
