Project Update: Dezerland Park Orlando

The $20 million dollar makeover of Artegon Marketplace shopping mall into Dezerland Action Park is completed and welcoming guests. Forefront Architecture and Engineering worked to bring the project back on track and deliver exceptional service to complete the project on time.

Within the 300,000 SF mall structure resides a 1,500-vehicle Orlando Auto Museum, a bowling alley, a go-kart track, a trampoline gymnasium and more. Outside the structure, there are plans for a 365-unit, five-story apartment complex with a parking garage — estimated at $70 million — as part of the project’s first phase and future opportunities for hotels and other development.

In addition, Dezerland filed plans with the city for the apartment portion of the project. Documents show the first phase of the apartments being closest to International Drive, behind the existing Pollo Tropical restaurant. Those apartment plans, which include the name “Dezer City,” were approved at the city’s Sept. 17 municipal planning board meeting, said Karyn Barber, city of Orlando spokeswoman.

Forefront AE worked on all architectural plans for the new Dezerland Action Park renovation. This projects demonstrated Forefront’s commitment to keeping the project on schedule and within budget.
